Description
NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA) is a popular and free screen reading software that assists people living with visual impairments in using the Internet. Outside of the Accessibility world, many people are unaware of Assistive Technology (AT) and how it interacts with the web. This course is designed to provide users who are entirely new to NVDA a general understanding of this type of AT, while also providing the basic tools on website navigation and reviewing content while using NVDA.
This course is beneficial for developers, managers, and anyone who is responsible for adding accessible content to a website. Once you understand how people with different abilities use the Internet, you’ll have a better idea of why the remediation you implement on your website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) is so important and how the improvements you make will open up your website to a larger population and make it an equal experience for everyone.
